













2019 RYDER CUP
Here we go again, with the 21st edition of the Ryder Cup at Treetops.
Our Commissioner set the lineups, as well as the daily matchups, which goes Captainless for the second consecutive time.
Day 1: We kick off the opening round on the Jones (4 foursomes) , Tradition (3 foursomes) and Fazio (2 foursomes) playing Schamble / 3 Ball formats. It didn't take long for the fireworks and alcohol to get started, as over on the Jones course Bryan Andrews gets his first lifetime ace on the second hole. While the cart girl seemed to be the busiest person on the course this afternoon , the American forces eeked out an 89.5 - 83 first round lead.
Day 2: In the morning session, we began the day on the Smith Signature (4) and Fazio Premier (5) playing Better Ball on the front nine, and Chapman on the back nine. The Euros bounced back with a 91 - 82.5 victory to enjoy a 2 point overall lead 174 - 172. time for a quick lunch, then right back at it.
In the afternoon session, out to the Tradition (4) and Smith (5) for the Red,White and Blue Step Aside Scramble. Teammates get to play together and cards get matched when the round is completed. In addition, this round is played for team skins. The round began with a one off match of Modified Alternate Shot with Americans Price and Corrigan facing off against Berenter and Lewis, with the Euros winning the double pointed match 21-18. The Euros swept the day, winning 4 matches with 1 draw, with a 65.5 - 51 point total, and an overall lead of 239.5 - 223.
Day 3: On Sunday, only 18 holes of golf then lots of partying and comraderie. It was back to foursomes on the Jones (4) and Smith Tradition (5) playing Better Ball / Schamble. Once again, Team Euro took 6 of the 9 matches, and the point total of 93 - 84, widening their overall lead to 25.5 with the total scores now 332.5 - 307, heading into the final round.
Day 4: On Monday, the 18 singles matches were played on the Fazio Premier (5) and Smith Signature (4) with 18 holes of match play. Team Euro proved too much for the American squad, capturing the day 180.5 - 165.5, and increasing their overall margin of victory to 41.5 points with the final overall score 513 - 472.5.
Team Euro was led by Ron Clayton and Kevin Koshorek who both posted a perfect 5-0 record. Marc Summers followed closely behind at 4-0-1, while tour rookie Nate Chadd not only went 3-0-2....... but found a new way to spend his nights....
