2008 Ryder Cup Championship:
In this years edition of the Ryder Cup, the opening round was played at Arcadia Bluffs where history was made with Mike Schrauben recording the first hole in one in the history of the Ryder Cup. Upon completion of the round, everyone headed to Treetops - in what most would describe as the most memorable drink fest of all time, as Bryan Andrews fired up the passengers by raiding the Long vehicle of all the Canadian beer - which obviously got consumed during the drive. The American team headed to Treetops with a Day 1 victory 61 - 59. Once we got back to golf - The American team increased their overall lead to 12 points after Round 2, but the Euros came storming back in Round 3 to overtake the Americans by 1 point going in to Round 4. From this point - the European team cruised to their first lopsided win - sticking it to the Amercian squad by 42 points. Leading the way for the "Euros" were Eric Stephan and Bruce Jones who both sported 3-0-2 records. Mike Schrauben had a slellar performance for the struggling Americans with a 4-1 record. This was the third conseutive Team Euro win.

Mike Schrauben - starts the Hole in One Club
At this years event - we had three father - son combinations, and with the luck of the draw, they were all on opposite teams. Our opening round pitted Bob Fullman and Larry Schrauben agianst their sons - a pair of Mike's.
On the second hole, , a 144 yard par three, Mike Scrauben used a gap wedge to record the first hole in one in Ryder Cup history. Not only that, he collected a nice $1,150 from the balance of the field.
Just for the record, the boys spanked their dads pretty good on this day to the tune of 16-4.
