













2021 RYDER CUP
Here we go again, with the 23nd edition of the Ryder Cup at Treetops.
The winning team from each daily round collects $220 toward their teams total purse. For the final round - this increases to $440 for the winning team. There will also be a Reverse Raffle with the winner receiving $680. The first hole in one will earn the lucky golfer $50 from all participants. .
Day 1: We kick off the opening round on Saturday, at Westwynd with a full shotgun at 1:30. The format for the first round starts out with Shamble on the front nine and a Scramble on the back. Both nines includes a $320 skins game. Team Paul gets stunned by the young guns 114.5 - 104.5, winning 7 of the 11 matches. Team Paul's Dream Team of Rich Bieszki and Eric Stephan get clipped 12-8 by Zack Brydges and Kurt Wehner in the Golf Channel Feature Match.
Day 2: Teams have arrived at Treetops for the balance of the tournament. Rounds today played on the Smith Signature, Jones Masterpiece and Fazio Premier. Format is Chapman on the Front Nine and Shamble on the Back Nine. There is a birdie pool on the front nine, as well as a skins game on the back nine at each course. The old boy's bounced back today as Team Paul captured a 118.5 - 93.5 victory, as well as a 15 point lead for the overall championship.
Day 3: On Monday, 36 holes of golf with the first round off at 8:00ish. Rounds are at Smith Tradition, Smith Signature and Jones Masterpiece. The morning round format is Scramble on the front nine and Chapman on the back nine. There is also an 18 hole birdie pool. Once again. Team Paul was firing on all cylinders winning 7 of the 11 matches, and winning the round 121 - 96.5 increasing their overall lead to 344 - 304.5.
In the afternoon session, team foursomes on the Smith Tradition, Smith Signature, and Jones Masterpiece. We are led off however, with one 18 hole two man teams - scramble, which team Ronnie won. For everyone else, the format is the Chicago Choke, and Team Ronnie did exactly that, coughing up four losses in the 6 matches and falling 64-52.5 for the round. Team Paul takes a 51 point lead 408 - 357 into the singles matches.
Day 4: On Tuesday, the 22 singles matches were played on the Smith Signature, Fazio Premier, and Smith Tradition.
Team Paul shows no sign of letting up, winning 15 of the 22 matches, and amassing 241.5 points to win the round. With Jimmy Mehlberg and Mike Schrauben leading the way, both going undefeated, Team Paul captures the Ryder Cup 649.5 - 545.
A great time was had by all - drive home safely.
